So if this story were ever to be retold I’d maybe want Chris rock to narrate the story and I will stick to my stance that we didn’t throw a parri...

so how did it all start .. well imagine an inventor is like hmmm let me invent a wheel and then upon sharing it with his family the same wheel becomes a formula 1 race car in just minutes and then enters the championship race and then comes out on top… Do u get what it is I am sayin? all the inventor thot about what just a simple wheel but somehow it became larger than life !!!!

Well so that’s the story of the party that never happened . I am sure there will be different stories of how the party came about dependin on who u ask.. (placin hand on a bible and swearin I swear to tell the truth and the whole truth and nothing but the truth.. so help me god Imight add some jara or even skip out some things but u will get the gist.

So my bday was the 11th and I took my friends and male cousins out to eat.. now that was where the wahala started cuz the females in the family weren’t feelin that.. Rightfully so, so I said don’t worry we will do a small bbq end of the month and since my cousins bday was a week plus after mine.. we will do something together and then dedicate it to her since I had already celebrated mine with the guys.. so that was it oh. My plan was I’d get ribs and some meat and grill. U know something simple.. u know like a game night u and ur boys chillin . u runnin back and forth to check the grill to make sure the sausages don’t burn. That was the plan oh.. and for like a while it was ..
Then one day mummy yuppy comes to the house. And like play like play.. everything forkasibe.. or better everything explodes….. So Lola comes in and then she starts sayin na we can’t do that…that if we want to do this we should just do it well no need to half step.. so we are hearin her out and she is soundin convincing.. u know like u r tellin someone u think u will have a few kids and they are talkin u into buyin a school bus because that’s the only thing that makes sense… so now that u r sold on the school bus. What’s goin to happen now to ur kids???? U know to fill it up u better have more kids abi ??? lol well that’s what lola did.. she took the small idea and added gasoline to it… and me crackin up i am bbin lanre L and sayin his sister is a trip.

Yejide and I are laughin.. lara is like ok lolas is makin sense.. me I am like lara NOOOOOOOO Lola isn’t oh she is the one that will start the fight and say.. “u know and I spoke to both of em not to fight oh .. that why now!! .. they should be friends .. hmm I don’t have any hand in this oh”… lolol anyway so this is goin on and on .. and lanre and I are still chattin.. then somehow he sends lara a text saying I got a DJ… now imagine Lola has got u that school bus.. lanre just built a mansion now the deal is sealed u must to have plenty kids now.. cuz u know maybe the bus u can use if for charity or even business.. but this DJ now is like u having 25 rooms in ur house… hmm u gast to do it bigz(imagine jenifa sayin it). Bimbo L sends lara a text sayin she is good for a case of wine and a list of 14 plus ppl she is bringing along… now the thing is beyond me oh.. now Lola is still here talkin about how this has to be done.. and the parri was born abi… so that’s my story oh and somehow along the line .. lara added the theme is jeans and NS…… so that’s where ns became part of the plan… but u know what it was a lovely turn out each person held their own and we all were one big family and one big ns family…. Most of the ppl who came out were familiar faces most were NS customers and most importantly friends. So it was a good look . thank u all for coming we all appreciate it and NS loves u more…

speechless and gross injustice

I have no clue where to even begin... I wish I had a video camera maybe then will u be able to understand the madness no the MADNESS that transpired this evening. Now for one thing Nigerians are really like animals. we somehow don’t know our rights or maybe we are just tooo ignorant to demand it collectively... nothing personal oh.. but come on ppl.. we should know better and do better than that..


so let me start from where i come in to the saga.. Around 9pm smalls and i get a call that one of our friends had an accident and he hit the AG's.. Acting gyrator of city of lagoon. So we are thinking that’s a big deal. We just hope the accident wasn’t bad.. besides the friend was drivin a loaner car which wasn’t a good look again.. so we asked where they were and he is like fishing club.. we get there and we assess the damage to his car.. well he was drivin a Camry sedan and the AG had a Prado - truck.. Now this accident if anything was bumper to bumper and it was also at a slow speed cuz nothing broke on the Camry the bumper was just displaced slightly. So we walk up to check out the Prado. at first site we see nothing.. so we bend down almost gettin on our knees and then bend our head further down to see the dent on the car.. so we are sayin no brainer.. truck and sedan. the truck always comes out on top. OK SO WHATS THE PROBLEM NOW.

The AG apparently got down looked at the car while on the phone. conducted some business and went in to the super EXCLUSIVE ATV CLUB...without sayin a word to my friend…. like whateva. anyway so now the AG’s driver bein the humble loyal servant orders the security guards at the venue not to allow the Camry to exit until his boss gives word.. and we are like that doesn’t make sense.. the worst case scenario is the guy asks my friend to pay for it. now tops 5k thats tops if not even a 2 minute stop at the panel beater.. Anyway per instructions from the guard the car is impounded and we can’t go in and request to talk to the AG because he is in the super EXCLUSIVE WRITERS CLUB..


So as the loyal citizens we are ... we waited for this supernatural man to come out and give us his verdict on such an injustice that was done to his car.. so we waited.. and then it started raining.. and i am thinkin wow.. so this guy is inside chillin probably havin a drink and we are here in the rain tryin to figure out how to persuade the driver to talk to his boss or the security guard to let us get into the lounge area.. to say the least we get wet..
fast-forward an hour plus (inbtw the driver was sayin my friend will have to get a new bumper.. imagine u have a flat tire and u think the solution is to change the rims and the tire)
anyway we are now at the reception tellin the receptions what our issue is.. we r there like 5 mins then we see the guy walkin out.. he sees us and i am like excuse me sir do u have a moment" dude in his high and mighty self says he has nothing to say.. so he heads to the bathroom and we are thinkin hmm this is peculiar.. but on the bright side we have another chance to approach him... he gets out and then smalls and friend try their luck. (imagine u r walkin out on the street and a prostitute is tryin to get ur attention.... now if u r normal person u will just keep it movin and not even pay attention to it.. well thats how the guy treated us) so he gets into his friends car with his driver drivin the prado behind them and they drive off... now in a civilized country like nigeria... this would be the end of it all.. but noooooooooooooooooooooooooo this isn’t Nigeria.. we get to the gate and the guards are sayin the driver said his boss said the car isnt allowed to leave the compound.. now this isn’t a police station.. It’s not like the Prado was damaged or anything.. so we are sayin one there is no way the AG can be doin this . yeah the dude did us dirty by not even listen to us but his driver now is flexin his Kolomentality power.. or someone has a big ego and didn’t get enough presents when they were young from the super generous father Christmas…


So our argument now goes back and forth with the security guards and management of the boat club askin what grounds they have to impound a car.. and bear in mind the accident didn’t happen in their compound.. and to top it off the other party left and he didn’t say anything but u r goin off the word of his driver who already feels he has a bone to pick .. Anyway around 12.15 am we were allowed to leave their complex... n that was it.... no sorry nothing.. so the saga started at past nine and ended past midnight all because the MD had a dent and refused to talk to us mere peasants in this powerful mans kingdom… no crime was committed, an accident happened that should have been resolved sooner but somehow was dragged on for hrs and one party lacked the decency to be civil in the matter.

Well initially I was putting the man’s title on blast but God forbid this is Nigeria. So to protect myself and ns from any kinda oppression/retaliation/censorship I have decided to add this isn’t a true story oh… in fact it was just a dream and in fact none of my friends have cars so there is no way this could have happened.. never and the AG is just a superhero that saves ppl like the shark from jaws or sadam from terrorist :-) yes indeed

its 4.48 am just got back from my very occasional outing... its weird when i go out i end up thinkin of how much work i am suppose to be doing and i even sometimes get the light bulb effect in my head and when i am home not going out.. i usually think of how much work i need to do and then plan to do it someother time.. and no i hardly get the light bulb effect.. na wa ab..

yeap yeap yeap. so for a while now i havin been lookin for an escape. i needed something to take me out of the ns grind.. and unwind.. u know something to hopefully reverse my business induced hair greying.. now there is nothin wrong with gettin some grey hair here and there. but i am way too young to be gettin that shit.. not a good look ..

anyway so i decided to dedicate my sunday to it. u know a whole day of just relaxin. feelin the breeze from the ocean.. feet in the sand.. and just chillin away from everything

The other weekend in DC ( Naeto n Kelly in the house)

So… it been a while since NS USA put up a blog post, but we back in b’ness…lol. So the other weekend my boy Obi called (by the way he was my next door neighbor in naija) informing me that naeto was gonna be performing in MD over the weekend and I needed to show up! And of course I was gonna show up.

Got to the show kinda late cos some Ohafia chic (inside joke) took forever to get ready lool, but it was all good. DJ was noiceeee, music was great. When decale n makossa music comes on, u got me any day!!! Lol. So, at bout 2am Naeto came on stage and rocked the house. Kelly Handsome joined him on stage briefly which was kinda cool.

Anyway, naeto had mad swag n when I spoke to him after the show he was very cool ( don’t have the picture yet) but enjoy the rest of the pix from the show.

so i am back in the country..... i am sure most ppl didnt know i left and i am also sure most ppl didnt even know i was around in the states.. do u get what i am sayin..? well hope u do sha.. cuz its like i am def. in btw nowhere.. olumide in limbo.. so how does it start.. through my first months back in naija...i kinda felt like an outsider u know just workin here with my home in the states..i was cool with the idea.. but then this my past trip i realized i was just a guest in a place i once called home .aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaawwww lolol well it was weird.. i really saw it as a temporary thing which it was and i had a strong urge to get back in to the mix in gidi... so now i am back and i sayin to myself what was it again i was runnin back to.. so there lies my dilemma in 2009.

so far what i have experienced in 24hrs and i cant make this up.... when customs guy stop ur car in traffic on the road and they are askin for all kind of car documents like bill of ladin and other stuff to show proof of how the car was shipped in.... even if they claim u dont have it and u have eventually bribed ur way thru it after his threats that ur customs documents aren’t complete and he will tow ur car away u and he has seen more money in ur wallet so u better pay more, u should still go thru the paperwork carefully cuz u might just have had the document and the cop was just tryin to pull a fast one on u cuz of ur inexperience. yippee... up nigeria and all the fools that keeps it going..
